Lorraine S. Halverson

Lorraine Halverson, Mom, grandma, great grandma, and great-great grandma, passed away on March 13, 2012 at the age of 90 at the Onalaska Care Center. She was born September 17, 1921 to Sam and Mathilda (Bratberg) Moen and raised outside Holmen in Council Bay.  She married Lloyd Halverson on her birthday in 1941 in Ettrick, WI, they celebrated 58 years of marriage.

Her ability to be creative and “make do” with what you have was passed down to her children and grandchildren.  Lorraine was the Clerk for the Town of Holland from 1970 to 2001. She enjoyed this challenging position and getting to know all the residents of the Township. She loved doing crossword puzzles and Cryptograms from the Tribune.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 16th at Holmen Lutheran Church. Pastors Matt Toso and Dan Henderson will officiate. Burial will be in the Long Coulee Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 12 noon until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Onalaska Care Center for providing kind, compassionate care and friendship, you are wonderful! And all her friends from Mc Hugh Manor and the Ruth Circle who visited often and sent so many cards.

She will be missed.
